I was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. My parents split when I was 9, and I was raised with my brother by my mother. She worked to make ends meet and we struggled when I was younger. My dad liked to fish, so on his weekends we would get to with him. There wasn’t a lot of catching going on, but I still have fond memories of those times. As a teen, I rebelled and struggled with my identity. I was that awkward kid that always looked down at the floor and tried to fit in. My senior year, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, who forever changed my life. That was my first glimpse of how everything you experience truly affects the person you become.

For some reason, I have always been surrounded by strong women in my life, from friends to family members and I have drawn from that strength to get where I am today. I worked my way through college and eventually ended up as an IT Manager for a local IT Outsourcing Company in Dallas. As my journey progressed, I became more self confident. I married in 2001, and my husband encouraged me to start fishing competitively. I took a year off in 2005 to give birth to our now 2 year old son. My daughter is still my treasure and has become her own independent young woman, who doesn’t like to fish…but barrel race instead. (Nobody’s perfect!)

Why She Fishes |
I love the outdoors and would rather be in a boat in ANY weather, than be stuck in an office. I also love to compete against men and fishing is a great sport with an even playing field |

I am very competitive and enjoy being outdoors. My husband and I love to fish together for fun, but every event turns into a competition between us. He fished locally in Texas and I now fish on the FLW Tour. I have decided to never be content with my conditions if they are negative. It all starts with the self confidence to take the next step in your life. Once you take the step, you never know where it will lead.
