I was born and raised in Arlington, Texas. My dad liked to fish, so we would wander out to Lake Arlington on occasion for some father/daughter fishing time. There wasn't a lot of catching going on, but I still have fond memories of those times. My first individual tournament was a WBFA tournament on Lake Dardanelle. I traveled and roomed with Debra Hengst, who is a professional angler, and she taught me the ins and outs of the professional circuit. That first tournament week was definitely an eye opener. I haven't been that physically and emotionally drained in my entire life. I am thankful to this day for her friendship and patience with me on that trip.

For some reason, I have always been surrounded by strong women in my life, from friends to family members and I have drawn from that strength to get where I am today. As a young single mother, I worked my way through college and eventually ended up as an IT Manager for a local IT Outsourcing Company in Dallas. As my journey progressed, I became more self confident. I married in 2001, and my now ex-husband encouraged me to start fishing competitively. I took a year off in 2005 to give birth to our now 4 year old son. My daughter is still my treasure and has become her own independent young woman, who doesn’t like to fish…but barrel race instead. (Nobody’s perfect!)

Why She Fishes |
I love the outdoors and would rather be in a boat in ANY weather, than be stuck in an office. I also love to compete against men and fishing is a great sport with an even playing field |

I am very competitive and enjoy being outdoors. I have decided to never be content with my conditions if they are negative. It all starts with the self confidence to take the next step in your life. Once you take the step, you never know where it will lead.
